Temperature-Compensated Dynamic Pressure Sensor August 4, 1997 PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN ---- Optrand will introduce a new temperature-compensated pressure sensor AutoPSI-TC at the SENSORS EXPO, Cobo Convention Center in Detroit, Michigan, October 21-23, 1997, booth #707. The AutoPSI-TC is a new addition to Optrand's AutoPSI family of pressure sensors uniquely capable of operation in high temperature up to 360°C, at high levels of Electromagnetic and Radio Frequency Interference fields (EMI/RFI), and in chemically volatile media. The temperature coefficient of sensitivity of the AutoPSI-TC temperature-compensated dynamic pressure sensor is reduced to ±0.003%/°C - matching the performance of much more expensive water-cooled sensors. The AutoPSI-TC sensor is suitable for a wide range of applications such as (1) Engine balancing, condition-based maintenance, diagnostics and prognostics in natural gas and diesel engines, where excellent pressure-response linearity and calibrated sensitivity are required. (2) In-vehicle engine calibration and mapping - when integrated with Optrand's pressure indicating spark plug, CALplug. (3) Extrusion, injection and compression molding in the plastics industry. (4) Metal die-casting, etc. The sensor, utilizing a non-corrosive and a non-abrasive diaphragm, is offered in a variety of packages ranging from miniature M5 to 1/2-20 thread sizes, covering pressure ranges of 0-14 bar (~200 psi) to 0-3,000 bar (~45,000 psi), and with accuracy of ±0.5% and ±1% of Full Scale Output. The sensor is available in custom packages and guaranteed for 2 years of continuous operation.
