with Signal Conditioner Rated for 125°C January 14, 1998 PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN ---- OPTRAND announces the introduction of a new fiber-optic pressure sensor AutoPSI-HT at the SAE 1998 International Congress and Exposition, Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan, February 23-26, 1998, Booth #1271. Utilizing Optrand's proven AutoPSI design for high-temperature pressure measurements, the AutoPSI-HT sensor comes with an integrated signal conditioner rated for continuous operation at temperatures up to 125°C (~260°F). Due to its fiber optic construction the sensor is uniquely capable of continuous operation at sensor tip temperatures up to 350°C, at high levels of Electromagnetic and Radio Frequency Interference fields (EMI/RFI), and in chemically volatile media. The AutoPSI-HT sensor is offered in both temperature compensated ("TC") or standard ("S") versions, with the temperature coefficient of sensitivity of +0.003%/°C and +0.03%/°C, respectively, over the sensor tip temperatures of –40 to 350°C. The sensor is available in several housing styles ranging in thread sizes from M3.5 to M10, covering pressure ranges of 0-7 bar (~100 psi) to 0-3,000 bar (~45,000 psi). Custom packages are available as well. Specifically designed for long-term monitoring of natural gas and diesel industrial engines, the sensor is guaranteed for unprecedented three years or 500 Million pressure cycles, whichever comes first. Other targeted OEM applications include monitoring and control of vehicle, marine and aviation engines, as well as gas compressors. Optrand, Inc. is a Plymouth, Michigan based developer and manufacturer of fiber optic sensors targeting industrial and automotive applications.
